What is this? The upgrade gives ads huge space on the page - this is very bad - why am I paying a subscription fee for this amount of ads?

I read newspapers from around the world and this is without a doubt the best put together app for reading the news that I have encountered. The only thing it needs is proactive alerts to new articles that interest me.
To The Australian ipad app team: congratz on the launch. I do enjoy this app and will send you guys feedback for improvements. My suggestion: plz describe more about the app and its features.
Fonts are blurry, there us a long lag between swiping across and it changing sections. There is no vertical scrolling of the pages. No copy and paste or emailing articles. Price is a good price in which I would pay if the app was good enough. For now dont waste your money until they make a proper effort.
another disappointing app from a newspaper publisher....you gotta try harder than that if you want people to pay for the pleasure...the web page is much more visually pleasing (and free). Why would I use this app? At least it was ready for the Aussie iPad launch...better than the other Aussie media outlets!
I have found The Australian App incredibly intuitive - maintaining the sense of reading a newspaper - with the advantage of live updates. Splendid work.
After you ignore all the bias pro/anti comments you get an okay app. Considering weve only just scratched the surface when it comes to print media on the iPad, you get the app which you can nicely flick between pages, easier than the web-site. The ads are there, but easily dismissible if not interested (similar to the actual newspaper experience) - sometimes we forget ads are actually useful. Looking forward to future updates. At the end of the day we need good journalists in this country being paid and to keep the govt honest - so get your wallet out and pay.
I like this App, but noticed an issue with the date: It has been showing "January 1, 2001" on every article.
Cant copy paste Incomplete content Advertising?!?! Load is slow If it was free it would be excusable But for money No
This app is not too bad, but it still presents a selection only of the paper (along with some stuff not in the paper). They should focus on getting 100% of the newspaper content in the app. Also, it is not possible to email a link to articles - that would be a big improvement.
This is the best app for reading a newspaper on the Ipad I have encountered. Makes the New York Times app seem very basic by contrast.
Crashes to the point of being unusable
Slow, painfully so, to refresh, limited articles, frequent crashes and intrusive ads. Read the website if you must.
Not bad, but ads FAR too intrusive for a paid app.
I start the app and then have to wait ages while the latest edition loads. And they expect me to pay $15/month but I also get saddled with intrusive advertising. And I mean really intrusive. Like go to an article and get taken to an ad page first! You need to have a good look at how The Guardian have implemented their newspaper. And you need to get it on Newsstand on iOS 5 so at least the latest edition downloads in the background and is ready for me to read when I want it. I signed up for a 3 month free trial but if this is what I get Im not signing up for the real product. Its not worth it.
One of the worst newspaper apps going. Slow, ad ridden, expensive, derivative. Dont waste your time or money on this one.
Customers beware! If you buy this by mistake there is no way to get a refund. My husband just bought this twice and we cant get a refund. Also a subscription works on one device only, so if you want it on more than one device you have to pay again!!!
A lot easier to read and seems to load a lot faster. Definitely an improvement.
Love the way articles are laid out in app, with a front page emulating a traditional broadsheet but a reading section that gives the bulk of space over to the article of interest without the clutter too often seen in newspaper apps.
It is good to see the Australian adopting the Wall Street Journal app from its News Corp parent. The app itself an excellent app, and is a real improvement on the previous version and one of the best newspaper apps in the App Store. Keep up the good work.
